Trees, branches, light crafters- This series of paintings of trees that surround our Yellow House in Topanga California explore visual references as well as the abstract qualities that emerge in the process of translating the experience of looking, listening and feeling while painting on site. The abstract qualities inherent with trees, branches, leaves and light are a spectacle. The translation reminds me of a Pollack gestural field painting, abstract expressionist, Though these are referential, I hoped to capture some of the imaginary space of looking up into trees as in a day dream.
