Three TreesThree Trees, 50" x 30", Oil on canvas, 2016For me, this was the most successful of this tree series. Three Trees' branches and leaf patterns create latticed pattern fields, much like a Jackson Pollack, that wonderful feeling of looking up into the tree and day dreaming. This painting offers a opportunity for wonderful experiences. It's realistic referents are nice footholds, while the abstractions of color and pattern open it up for much discovery.
